About the event
Jason "JaFLEU" Fleurant is a self-taught Haitian-American visual artist and awards winning
indie animator/ film-maker from South Florida. His paintings have been exhibited globally and
reside in the lives of figures such as U.S. Senator Cory Booker, Michael Eyric Dyson, Jill Scott
and more. JaFLEU created "Treal Toonz", his brand of animation where he celebrates and
highlights black culture through cartoons. Not only have his animations been screened
internationally and won many awards, but in 2021 his animated series Peanut Headz: Black
History loon was nominated for an NAACP Image Award.
